Scalea and the Antiquarian

Scalea one of the oldest villages on the Tirreno Cosentino marked by houses placed one over the other. This typical medieval coastal town saw its life grow over the centuries from its birth during the 11th century with the development from the Longobards and Normans to the Spanish and Napoleonic invasions. From the sea with the imposing Tower Talao to the town with the Tower Cimalonga, it also plays home to the Antiquarium which keeps a well-stocked collection of archaeological remains from the Paleolithic Age to the Roman period.

Santa Maria del Cedro, Marcellina and the remains of Laos 

Santa Maria del Cedro, located on the plain of Lao between the river Lao and Abatemarco, had numerous archaeological testimonies relating to all historical periods, such as its first settlement with the large town of Magna Graecia of Laos, the ruins of the medieval town of Abatemarco, the castle of St. Michael and the aqueduct Norman. The Tower of St. Andrew is an integral part of the defense system of the coastal towers of the Coast of the Cedars. Cirella and its ruins 

Cirella, favored by the gods, was born with its harbor in the Greek era passed down through the ages by various people who did good and bad. It represents one of the most charming places to visit along the Tyrrhenian coast. The ruins of its old town with the remains of the Norman period and the Middle Ages, its defense towers offering spectacular views over the particular island of Cirella, a place of mystery and rich treasures protected by the waters of the sea.
