Visit Consenza

The ancient Consentia, the first name given to the city as the capital Bruzia, has a history that starts from the 4th century BC. Over the centuries, it has obtained a prominent role in terms of strategic and commercial culture. “Metropolis” in the period of Ancient Greece was connected the Roman era, the Duchy of Calabria in the Angevin period and the capital of the Calabria Hither under the rule of the Aragonese. The Spaniards made it one of the most lively centres of southern culture with its central role into the Risorgimento period up to the development in the early 20th century.

“Consentia” Tour – On the road of Brettii to the birth of the Consentia, from the Crati River Valley to the “Museum of Brettii and the Enotri” in the monumental complex of St. Augustine with an extensive archaeological collection from the Paleolithic to the Roman Empire, to the discovery of the connection between nature and the ancient populations that led to the birth of the city.
