Fiumefreddo Bruzio  

Travelling along the Strada Statale 18, between Paola and Amantea, you can not help but be  impressed by the enchanting rocky ledge that preserves the small village of Fiumefreddo Bruzio, one  of the best kept old towns of Calabria. In November 2005 it was added in the prestigious club of the  most beautiful villages in Italy, it stands as one of the historical wonders and cultural landscape of  the province of Cosenza. It is by far the highest point of the Paolana Coast, a true balcony over the  sea. The route winds through the historic centre that preserves ancient palaces, churches, ruins,  defense towers and also contemporary pictorial art treasures. The castle is located in the historic  centre with paintings from the 80’s, created inside and outside the fort by Salvatore Fiume.          Amantea Duration:1hr 30mins  Amantea, one of the most important centers of the southern Tyrrhenian Sea. A charming town  characterized by ancient palaces, churches of great importance such as the one dedicated to San  Bernardino, declared a national monument, and narrow streets overlooking the sea. A town veiled with mysteries since its origins that may coincide with the ancient Clampetia founded by the Greeks.

Belmonte Calabro  

The village of Belmonte was born between 1270 and 1271 following the escape of population from the coastal areas invaded by the Saracens. The territory of Belmonte was separated from that of Amantea only at the beginning of the fourteenth century. From the Castle to the historic buildings and the narrow streets, the village is coming back to life thanks to the recovery of its historical centre. The so-called serpentine green marble Belmonte plays and attractive existence.

San Lucido : l’antica Temesa 

The “Nicentina Panorama”, a tree-lined promenade that overlooks the Sanlucidana cliff, is one of the attractions of this village in a particular star shape, consisting of 5 quarters that converge towards a single point. The historical centre offers the chance to marvel at the ancient medieval buildings built with pink stone nicentina extracted directly from local quarries. There are numerous places of worship to see that hold valuable assets.
